Are you saying you tested both of these configurations?
Radeon HD 5770 DP out --> DP to DP cable --> U2515H DP in
Radeon HD 5770 DP out --> DP to mDP cable --> U2515H mDP in

Is the windows desktop set to 2560x1440 60Hz?

Have you tested with DP 1.2 and DP 1.1a?

If you decide to get it exchanged via Dell Technical Support, send me the exchange dispatch number via private message (click my username) .

The answer is yes to all the questions.

Here is the short video showing ocasional flickering. I couldn't catch how it goes black. Sorry for the content :) (I got the link saved. DELL-Chris M)

I do not know if there is a point in exchanging it. My previous  U2515H was turning itself off too and it was manufactured couple of months earlier. Do you think that I should exchange it?

I'm wondering the same thing here. It's looking like it might be something to do with our graphics cards maybe. Something which the U25 doesn't like. I have two A01 monitors with an ATI 6850 and both have this problem.

If changing graphics card was the fix I might be up for doing that as I like the monitors but it's risky if we don't know for sure where this issue lies...

Just to repeat what I posted on the other thread for those who might miss it:

----

Right, I'd like to update this as I have solved the problem.

I simply changed over from a DP - DP cable (that I used previously without issue) to the DP -> MDP cable that comes with the monitor. I then daisy chain out from it to the other monitor DP -> MDP.

Since making this change I've had no black out's at all.

So at least in my case it appears to be cable related. For anyone having this issue, make sure your using the cable that comes with the monitor or try another cable to rule that out.

For me buying another graphic card is not an option anymore. I bought this monitor for 500$ US just to find out that I have to buy graphic card with DP because it didn't display native resolution over HDMI of HDMI-DVI cables. Then I found out that the USB is damaged and I had to exchange the monitor. New one is way brighter on the left side and it has big light spillage at the lower edge. I'm literally scared what they might send me now...

Replacing monitors that have this problem is pointless, I've just tested one more and it was ewen worse.

A01. Aida64 said it was couple weeks younger than my current one. It was noticeably refurbished.

A01 is the latest revision. All refurbished A00 were flashed to A01, so the PPID date code is irrelevant. Will report your findings.

What A0x revision did you get on the replacement monitor?

I did the exact same you did. Ordered 2 new DP cables and threw away the mDP cables that came with the monitors. I connected the first cable from my ATI Radeon HD6870's DP port to the DP "In" port of the first monitor and with the second cable I connected the DP "out" port of the first monitor to the second monitor on DP "in". Alas, that didn't work neither.

By the way, I'm using two Dell U2715H monitors, both Rev. A00.

I've tried for weeks to get the MST working and finally things are looking good. It seems to be working fine now using the standard mDP to DP cables too. The first monitor has DP 1.2 enabled, the second doesn't.

What I did:

I was thinking of trying to download and test some older Catalyst drivers from the manufacturer's website.

I'd downloaded all versions there were available, back to 2011.

Before each new installment of the Catalyst drivers I used the driver cleaning tool from AMD. That one is called: "amd_cleanup_util_1.2.1.0.exe".

Eventually I'd installed Catalyst driver V. 14.1 (13.251.0.0 WHQL) for Windows 7 64-bit. That version seems to work fine now. No black screen for a moment or whatsoever.

I did the installation using only one monitor connected and had DP 1.2 disabled.

An Important notice is that when the Catalyst installation program was complete and it asked for a reboot I clicked no and closed down Windows myself. I then daisy-chained to the second monitor and enabled DP 1.2 only on the first monitor. Then I did the reboot.

It's working prefectly fine now as I'm writing this, I only hope it will stay this way. And that will be about time too because I bought these screens in January and it this is the very first time they are working without any trouble.

Sigh..... I hope this helps for all you with the same problems. Good luck!

Update: Oops, the first screen turned off and on again for 1 second just yet... Though it seems to be

              a lot more stable now..

Johan-o-Maniac, thank you very much for help. I have only one monitor. I've bought DP cable after long tests with mDP cable supplied with the monitor. Bad cable was the first and most obvious culprit that came to my mind.

Please don't get me wrong, but I'm not interested in installing old drivers to my graphic card. I'm using a lot of multimedia, I'm playing games and I need to use the newest drivers. It's 2015 and people keep operating systems, drivers etc. updated. We buy good parts and peripherals from good producers (often overpaying) not to spend weeks searching for solutions how to get it work as it is meant to.

I hope that Dell will give us the solution for this problem soon.

@Marcin_ski:

I agree it is not the correct way to go and install older versions of the video drivers. It was just for testing, really. I've even ordered a second hand Nvidia Quadro NVS295 with two DP ports to connect both my screens to an individual port and so not having to use the MST function. I still have to test that cause the card is not in yet.

I even wonder if it's "only" a MST problem or DisplayPort problem in general. I recall a moment of error when I hooked it up to my other PC, using only one screen, on the HDMI port. It went off and on for a second in that situation too. At first I thought my fridge was the problem, a power surge or something when the fridge's motor started to cool.. :)

I really need the two screens for my work, so I can't just send them both back cause I've got no alternative. Still, I'm not happy with them and I'm planning on returning them once I find an alternative.
