Dell xps 12 i7 starts on a black screen and dose not load.

Question

So I have this Dell xps 12 i7. The problem is that it starts on a black screen and then sits there. The keyboard back light, lights up but monitor sits in darkness. Now when i then turn off the computer and turn it back on again it pulls up the automatic reappear system comes up and gives me a number of options. However all the reset options don't seem to work. Ether saying they are finished to no avail or saying they cannot finish. Any help would be really great. Thanks

Hello,

When did the problem start? Was there any hardware or software changed made on the machine.

Can you try running diagnostic by tapping f12 on startup and select the option diagnostics and complete.

Have you tried an external screen?

It started when the charger was put in and the computer froze. After a restart it started. I am running a diagnostic at the moment and the screen is working fine and isnot the problem.

Hi,  What's the outcome of diagnostics, did it comes up with any error. If your machine is on windows vista or 7, can you try going to safemode and do a system restore. Regards Hema
