Which driver handles VGA connection? (Intel HD or AMD 8790M)?

Hi, we have a Latitude E6540 with AMD Radeon HD 8790M.  The laptop crashes when working with external VGA (different equipments).  Question. Which driver handles VGA? Is it the Intel HD or AMD driver (or perhaps separate?). I will then attempt driver update directly from Intel or AMD before returning the laptop to Dell. Thanks.

The Intel GPU handles all video data, even if the AMD GPU has processed it.

Those are usually handled by the Dell quickset utility for systems that use it - or natively by Windows for those that do not.

Thanks but I suppose I'd bettter ask the real question and that is which driver is responsible for handling VGA functions? (e.g. plugging in/out VGA cable; user changing from external monitor to laptop screen etc). Thanks again.
