2nd day shipping (lead-misunderstanding )

Question

okay, I bought  an alienware m18 r2 before and I knew how long it was gonna take to get the laptop because of my order number, so I was okay waiting...This Wednesday 13 I ordered an alienware 17 r2 through phone call, but I had this idea that the 2nd day shipping offer started from that day or at least 4 or 5 days to get the laptop(thats what other companies do, right?)...However, after using the chat service (because I cant see any order number yet) I found out Im gonna get the laptop around the end of this month, which is a huge turn off because I needed it for my studies...Now, im in hard situations to keep or cancel my order, because I was initially going to buy a MSI gt80  but it was out of stock until next month...so, you see where im going here...at least the other website told me ahead the wait time unlike Alienware 2nd shipping , which I guess it takes them 2 weeks to get parts from china and assemble it.... So, please Alienware or Dell be honest and take off the 2nd day shipping, because the wait time is around 3 weeks...

Thanks for posting.

In checking the Alienware product page for the USA, I see that the standard lead time is 7-9 business days. Business days are Monday through Friday and weekends are not included. The 2nd day shipping is after the computer is built. This is all explained on the website.

Since technology changes so fast, Dell does not have a bunch of computers sitting up on shelves somewhere waiting for someone to order, they build them as the customer orders. That way the most up to date parts are included in the purchase.
