Hi,

First, which versions of Windows are you running? Was Bluetooth functioning normally before?  And, if so, did something happen that caused this problem?   Is wireless (and bluetooth) turned on in Windows?   Did you recently update the driver in that system?  Can you give us a bit more information about how it's "not working"?  Did you try to connect a bluetooth device to it and that device can't see the laptop?  Does the laptop not see other bluetooth devices?

I would recommend you check out our support article on Bluetooth troubleshooting.  That will lead you through the troubleshooting steps that will solve the majority of bluetooth issues.   You may also want to check out updating your bluetooth drivers from our Dell Support Pages.  Insert your service tag and the pages will redirect you to the support pages specific to your system.  Click on the drivers and downloads section, and then select the version of Windows that you're running on that system.

Lastly, here is a link to the Quick Start Guide for the Inspiron 15.  Please check to make sure that Wireless is turned on in the system.   ( FN + PrntScrn)

Let us know if any of this helps or if you are still experiencing problems.   If none of this works we'll see what else we can recommend to resolve the problem.

Hello I have had a similar experience with my laptop and after 4 hours of support from dell I was told to ship my laptop to them to be examined and then shipped back (with fees as necessary). I was not so willing to give up. knowing that the problem was with the wireless switch i uninstalled the switch from device manager and it worked. I still had to uninstall the drives and reinstall them but now it work fine. Dell needs to work on is diagnostic skills and listen to the customer a little more.

Could you explain how to do this?

Every time I right click airplane mode switch (which I understand is the wireless switch) and check box to uninstall software associated with the driver, and click uninstall it uninstalls but then reinstalls moments later. I have the exact same issue. I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled driver but when I do that the Bluetooth no longer shows in hidden devices. I've done a full system recovery and got it back, hidden in device manager.

I have the service call to return it back to Dell, for a second time for this issue, really hoping to not have to send it away again.
