Hi armenio,
The Inspiron 7347 system has 2 SODIMM slots. The system accepts a memory capacity ranging from 4GB and 8GB. The memory type accepted is DDR3L 1600 MHz SODIMM only. The computer supports a maximum of 8GB of memory when installed with two 4GB DIMMs.
In the link below punch in the system service tag or express service code and you can access the user manual for removing and reseating memory.

According to the spec sheet and the 7347 in my hands there is only one SODIMM slot for this system. Can you provide the hidden location of the second slot?

The 7348 has just one memory slot - it'll take up to 16G of RAM (note that 16G modules are available but priced well out of proportion to capacity vs. 8 G).

will the system detect and use 16gb though? the user manual says this laptop runs on 8gb max :(
