I would highly recommend using your warranty and contacting Dell Tech Support for help. That's what you paid for, and that's what they're there for, right?
On your system, when you try to power it up, do you see any of the three LED lights on the front of the system turn on? If so, which ones are solid, which ones are blinking, and which ones are off? That diagnostics code can help determine what the problem is.
Also, here is an article on troubleshooting the Inspiron 3531. Check it out, it has some information on the beep codes you should be hearing if the system doesn't power on. Check out the first section on what to do when the system doesn't start or there is no video.
Check out that article, try some of it's suggestions, and if that doesn't help then I do recommend contacting Dell Tech Support. Please let us know what you find out and if there is anything else we can do to help you.
Erm, I do not have 3 LEDS on it, only one. I am 100% sure that is the correct model, as I put in the service tag and it gave me that model. Anyways, when I turn on the laptop, the 1 LED turns on for about 5 seconds, and fades out.
Also, would my warranty be voided if I never opened up my system, I've only lost 2 screws while *screwing* around with it (pun intended). Since I never opened it, none of the tags inside are ripped.
You "lost" two screws and you're wondering why the system isn't working correctly? :)
Your warranty isn't voided but Dell won't cover customer damage to the system, and "losing" screws and now the system won't power up, or is making strange noises probably qualifies. Which screws did you remove?
If it's those screws that fell out then Dell Tech's can either send you those screws or, more likely, send a tech out to put the screws back in and fix whatever is causing the problem. (Assuming you have on-stie warranty).
I really do highly advise using the warranty. You paid for it, use it.
