SP docking station and U2415 dual monitor set up

Hi Chris,  I'd be grateful if you could help to set up two monitors to the SP docking station. I want set them up in a way that I have 3 individual monitors ie 2 Dell + Surface. I was able to connect one monitor but the same picture appears on my SP3. The second monitor is blank and went to the sleeping mode.  Reason line = Monitor model, short issue descriptionBody = U2415 * What is the 20 digit alpha-numeric monitor serial number? I CAN'T FIND IT. * What specific computer model? SURACE PRO 3* What operating system? WINDOWS * What video card? I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS* Video card driver version?* What video out ports are available on the video card?* What video out port are you using from the video card to what video in port on the monitor?* What cable are you using to attach the video card to the monitor?* Press the monitor Menu button to open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of that screen should show a resolution. Facing the rear of the monitor, the ports are this way =
4. DP in, 5. mDP in, 6. DP out

* The SP3 (Surface Pro 3) Dock is using its 48w power cable
* SP3 Dock mDP out --> Dell mDP to DP cable --> #1 monitor DP in (DisplayPort 1.2 Enabled)
* #1 monitor DP out --> Dell DP to mDP cable --> #2 monitor mDP in (DisplayPort 1.2 Enabled)

* Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and tap Devices. If you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and click Devices
* Tap or click Project, and then choose one of the following options:
PC screen only = SP3 only
Duplicate = Clone mode
Extend = One giant desktop
Second screen only = No SP3, just the monitors

Hi Chris, many thanks for your prompt reply. It works well but without the docking station, which I had to return. I didn't get any power into the monitors. However, when I connect the mDP directly to SP3 it works.

When the SP3 goes into a saving mode and I wake it up I had to turn off and on the monitors as they don't wake up. I am getting a message that there's no power. Is there a setting that I have to adjust so when I wake up SP3 the monitors will wake up too?

Setup in this way =* The SP3 (Surface Pro 3) is using its 36w power cable* SP3 mDP out --> Dell mDP to DP cable --> #1 monitor DP in (DisplayPort 1.2 Enabled)* #1 monitor DP out --> Dell DP to mDP cable --> #2 monitor mDP in (DisplayPort 1.2 Enabled) * Then test both of these power resume states: No usage for a few minutes, then wake it up =Surface Pro 1/2 (Sleep)Surface Pro 3 (InstantGo) No usage for several hours, then wake it up =Surface Pro 1/2/3 (Hibernate)

Hi Chris,

You helped me to daisy chain my DELL monitors and they are working well (as per our conversation above)

I have purchased DELL Sound Bar AC511. I can't make it work. I haven't received any adapter with it.

Can you please advise me on how to set it up? I have followed the instructions but it doesn't work. Do i need to buy the adapter?

The U2415 has the soundbar mounting brackets but does not 'power' the AC511 soundbar. The AC511 is powered by plugging its USB cable directly into the computers USB port. See step 4 in the manual. The computer audio playback must then be opened to choose the USB AC511 as the default playback device.
