Can't Wake Mouse or KB

Lately my Inspiron 620 has been difficult to wake after sleeping. Neither the mouse nor keyboard will operate (I guess they just don't wake up) after the computer has been in sleep mode. Movement of the mouse will wake up the system, but the mouse itself doesn't seem to wake up. The cursor remains stationary. No input is accepted from either the mouse or keyboard.

I went to Device Manager and checked Power Management tab in Properties for the mouse and keyboard. Both have check marks in the box "Allow this device to wake the computer" and the option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is grayed out. Ditto for the HID-compliant devices. But when I went to Universal Serial Bus controllers and checked the Root Hubs (I have two), it was a different story. For them, it was the "Allow this device to wake ...." that was grayed out. The box to "Allow the computer to turn off this this device to save power" was unchecked.

The Advanced Settings for my Power Options shows Hybrid Sleep turned Off and to Never Hibernate.

Anybody got any suggestions for how I can fix my Wake Up issue?

No, I'm not sure it's not in hibernation, but I do know it's not supposed to be based on the setting in Power Options Advanced settings. I've tried lightly, briefly touching the power button to wake it instead of moving the mouse to wake it. When I do that it shuts down.

Edit: Let me correct my description. When I lightly, briefly touch the power button to wake the computer, it does in fact wake the computer, just like when I move the mouse. But the mouse is still asleep, i.e. cursor is frozen, just like when I wake the computer by moving the mouse. Then, if I lightly, briefly touch the power button a second time, that's when it shuts the computer down.

Are you sure it isn't in hibernation? Try a brief press of the power button to test if it wakes when the mouse and kb don't work.
