Equipment will be different. Maybe you can adjust it: See if there is color adjustment in the Radeon driver. If you have an Nvidia graphics card on one PC: Try the Digital Vibrance control buried deep in the Display controls:start/control panel/appearance and themes/display/display properties/settings/advanced look for color correction or overlay controls, under the "nvidia card model" tab.

I also have a 1703FP with Nvidia 5200 card.  The brightness/contrast etc. in the Nvidia control panel have no effect on the display.  It seems you can only set brightness with the monitor button.

I am not real happy with the 1703FP.  I have a Viewsonic CRT at work, and it is MUCH sharper and easier on the eyes (less jaggies).  I have tried clear type on and off, on is better, but not great.  On any white or light screen you can see the grid of black pixals.  Type is definitely more pixalated.

I'd be interested in what settings others use... ie: what brightness?  I have mine down at 30 and it's still a little bright, but much lower than that starts losing color and contrast (which you can't set).  Is the best place to set Gamma within the Adobe Gamma software, or in the "color settings" with the monitor buttons?
