Are you trying to connect using 3G/Wi-Fi?
Did you set password for VNC?
What VNC server you have?

RDP is not supported on Home editions of Windows. So you need to connect using VNC.

jamesto,
Seems you might need to reinstall your ultra vnc.
artd,
During your VNC installation you can set the password or need to go to the settings of your VNC. What VNC are you using?

Very recently we are hearing connectivity issues with Ultra VNC, so would recommend you to use TightVNC.
