File and settings transfer wizard

Question

I have a new Dimension 8300 running XP Home and a older machine running 98SE. I am trying to use Microsoft's File and Settings Transfer wizard to transfer from the 'old' to the 'new.' The machines are connected through a router. I have ( I believe) disabled all firewalls but am not sure. I know I have disabled Norton Internet Security on the 98SE machine. When In transferred setting only, some came over. I tried 'files' only and the Wizard shut down due to an 'error.' The error, however, is not explained. Only a list of files that didn't transfer is displayed. Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?   Thanks for any help
