vWorkspace AppPortal Desktop Integration doesn't launch

Hi,

I'm trying to accomplish to publish published applications to user's Desktop / Start Menu on theirs VDI machines. Inside a VDI machine, I've installed vasclient32 bit and during the installation I've checked the box, automatically Integrated with Desktop, unfortunately it didn't happen at all. Even searching for AppPortal Desktop Integration inside the VDI VMs but I can't see anything.

Any help to accomplish this please?

Hi,

I have solved this requirement by having an AppPortal to be installed on the VDI Template Machine as

  • Desktop Integrated Mode
  • Make the AppPortal in the Startup of the VDI Template Machine
  • Configure Connector Configuration in vWorkspace  to use Cache Mode Credentials. (So this will allow the user the moment he/she logged to a VDI Machine, the AppPortal will launch and will ask for the Inside/Outside configuration. When the user selects inside it will automatically connect to the vWorkspace Farm
  • Configure the Connector - Desktop Integrated to Allow Client Shortcut on
    • Desktop
    • Start Menu
    • Start Menu / Program
  • In each Managed Application - Under User Experience, Desktop Integrated - Make sure you select where the shortcut to be available.
    • Desktop
    • Start Menu
    • Start Menu / Program
  • Under User Experience - Window Select Maximize use vWorkspace Seamless window Mode

The whole idea of this to provide seamless application to any user specially in Pooled Desktop. I don't know this is the correct way of doing it, or not, but the most important it works which will allow me to reduce the number of Persistent Desktop VMs I need for each user having different type of applications.

Hope it helps others, any point or suggestion/ recommendation, please feel free to add.

Hello,

pnap32.exe /di

This opens AppPortal in desktop integrated mode.

If you put that in the Startup folder it should do the trick.

Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply.... It does the trick, but every time a user launch a shortcut from the desktop, a Windows Session logging appear and after that it lunches the application.

Is there any way I can just let the application to launch instead of the Session Host ?
