Poweredge R530 PERC 9 Creating multiple virtual disks

I am wondering if people have been successful in creating multiple VD's with PERC? I can't seem to figure it out

I need a RAID 10 build for data and a raid 0 for an OS. I tried building just a RAID 10 and installing Server 2012 on it and when I format the drive to 128GB it splits the remainder into two partitions with one being unreadable I even get this issue under the lifecycle manager.

Any thoughts?

Yes, all PERC's support multiple VD's, with a few excepted scenarios.

What size and model are your drives?

Are you trying to configure a RAID 10 and a RAID 0 across the same set of disks? or are you trying to configure 4 or more disks in RAID 10 and 1 or more disks in RAID 0?

What OS?

2TB SAS

8 of them  from Dell

And yes I am trying to make a 128GB RAID 0 and the rest of the storage space a RAID 10 on the same set of disks.

My Boss did it once (doesn't remember how) then a consultant screwed it all up and now I am trying to fix the mess!

The LCC during a OS install will allow only you to configure 1 raid array, it is possible that is what you are seeing. You can go into the PERC BIOS (control R) during post and configure all the arrays needed, then start the install.
