XPS 13 screen shutting off

Been having a problem with my 2 month old XPS 13 and tech support at Dell is no help. The screen shuts off frequently when I am using an internet browser, I don't think the laptop is shutting down because the screen isn't completely black it seems like its going in to a sleep mode or something.

Sometimes I can shut the screen then open it and it will turn back on other times it will not turn back on and I have to hold the power button and restart it. It has nothing to do with the sleep settings but it seems like the laptop goes to sleep while I'm using it and only sometimes will it wake up, most time I will have to restart it only to have it do it again as soon as it starts back up.

This usually repeats itself several times in a row and I will have to keep restarting it. I have done all the Dell updates, it happens on Edge and on Chrome. Anybody else encounter this problem or have any suggestions to try?

I am experiencing the same thing.  The external monitor goes black, but comes back on when I type something.  It even shuts off while typing occasionally.  But the computer is not going to sleep.  Audio still plays etc.  Maddening.  I wish Dell would address this problem.  Might be driving an HDMI monitor from the USB Type C port?
