This has the 3D video - it has an Intel Hd card - 4000 I believe and an nvidia card - not got the system on at the moment but can confirm later if need be
I've now taken the cover off the back and the card is stamped Intel not dell with the model and serial numbers etc - I tried to scan the QR code but it was not recognised
That's why you're seeing WiDi disabled -- the version with 3D has the Intel GPU permanently disabled and runs the nVidia GPU only.
There are hybrid systems (now and when yours was available) that will work with widi -- but yours will not, since the Intel Widi requirements need an Intel GPU.
The system does have an Intel GPU - it uses the Intel unit in Windows and switches to the nvidia for more intense applications - I can select program by program which uses the Intel and which uses the nvidia.
Not if it's the 3D version - yes, the Intel GPU is there -- but the nVidia GPU is permanently hard-wired to the display -- the Intel GPU is completely bypassed.
ONLY in the non-3D systems is there a hybrid setup where both GPUs are used in tandem with each other.

The system needs an Intel wireless adapter as well - if it's a Dell wireless card, that's the point of incompatibility.

Thanks
The device is listed as an Intel Centrino wireless-n 2230 so I would presume this is an Intel card?
Thanks
Andrew

Is this the standard 2D model, or the model with 3D video?

Hi
Thanks for the reply

If I run dxdiag it lists the Intel unit

Sorry I've just realised that you don't mean 3D card but 3D display - old school terminology for a gfx card...
Mine is the hybrid witgout 3D - it has an Intel had graphics 4000 and a GeForce 650

Hi all
Has anyone got any other advice of how to update the drivers in order to get this working.
I am pretty convinced it should work, but I am running out of ideas!
Thanks,
Andrew
