what it means if it flashes amber then white

it means that it cant gold the charge or it is damage the battery if it is flashing I (prefer) to take out the battery or shut down the laptop and let it cool down for at least 3 hours but if it keeps flashing it needs a new battery on eBay and if its still flashing something is bad with mother board not responding

Thanks

I'm assuming your system is a Dell Inspiron 1545, windows 7 ? Correct ? If the system isn't a Inspiron 1545 then please list your Dell model and version of windows. By the way, when was the last time you change the old battery with a new one ?

In the meantime, I like to suggest you use the diagnostic tool on your computer by following the steps below:

A) Power off computer

B) Power on computer, quickly tap the F12 key continuously. You should be in the Diagnostic screen. Report back any error codes.

Running Dell F12 Preboot Diagnostics;

I also like to suggest you check the status of the AC adapter and battery in the BIOS. Please follow steps above but instead of tapping F12, tap the F2 key (make sure AC adapter connected to computer and battery as well).

Go to the Advanced tab and look for battery health, it should say "This Battery Is Performing Normally'. If there's any other message, it mean the battery is faulty and need a replacement. Look under the main screen and look for AC adapter type. If the adapter says Unknown or None then it's a problem with adapter
