what i would be looking at is the power board under the video card. this might need reseating, this has happened before to some user and it fixed it.

No, it wont void your warranty, as long as you don’t do damage to the system while attempting that.

Ok, I've tried open my baby (inspiron) but when it comes to removing the "keyboard cable" - actually it's not even a cable, it's like the LCD connector - looks to be very sensitive.

My question...where in the world do you pull in order to remove it. I don't want to just pull the strip and come up with a damaged item.

Let me know what I should be looking for?

I would really appreciate expert advise on this, since I don't really want to operate on my laptop going based on what I have so far...

usually the plastic part separates (by pulling up on the white part) and you pull the keyboard cable out.
