Windows 2000 and Windows XP do not perform a complete hardware re-discovery when reviving from suspend mode. You may be able to correct this by updating the network driver to the latest on the Downloads tab. If one is not available, you may wish to visit the vendor's web site for Dell-untested drivers. All drivers on the Dell web site have been tested and verified to work with the respective operating system and computer system.
We have the same problem. I believe that our PC techs were able to resolve it by backing off SP4. The Broadcom card is not the only item affected. If you undock your PC, no network devices (PC card, wireless, etc) will be able to lease an IP address. It certainly sounds like the microsoft article, but the microsoft article says that SP4 fixes it.
We're having the same issue but these D600 we got, they already have SP4 installed. I believe the problem may have caused by these recent Windows patches as I was told they worked fine when they first got the laptops.
Hopefully we'll have a solution to this soon. We have tried un-installing the drivers, removing hardware profiles but no difference.

In the bios set the setting "warm undock" to "hot undock" this sorted out the same for me.
