Please connect the USB cable that was provided along with the monitor. One end needs to be connected next to the audio line out port, the other end goes to the USB port on your system. Once you connect the USB cable, please allow the driver installation to be completed at the bottom right hand corner of the screen before performing any touch screen operations. Re-seat the power cable from the power adapter to allow auto-re-calibration of the touch module. Use a soft clean cloth to clean the dust.
Sorry, I should have mentioned that the usb is connected correctly and the touchscreen does function, just intermittently. Will the HDMI cable work better than the vga connection.

Yes, the HDMI connection would work better. Request you to re-seat the cables and then re-calibrate the touch module.
