XPS L502X BIOS Password

Hello forum, 5 years ago I set a bios password on my XPS L502X laptop. Unfortunately I can't remember it anymore. Removing the battery for 10 seconds doesn't help. Somewhere I read it would be possible with some master password if I provide my service tag. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You must place a voice call to Dell support with verification of ownership of the system.  Since the warranty has no doubt ended, be sure you have a credit card handy when you call - unless the system is under warranty, a support call charge will apply.

Hey the exact same problem happened to me about 2 years back. There is only one solution and you won't like it :)

After countless calls to customer service, running from one computer shop to another and reading every line of dell documentation.

The only solution is to change the hardware. Dell recommended me to change motherboard for 14,000 INR. I went to a popular repair shop in Mumbai and got only the password component changed for 2,000 INR.

Everything is fine since then.
