Same problem here (although I'm quite sure I get the 2A without the USB upstream cable connected - I've never actually controlled that though). That behaviour is nonsense.

We cannot explain why connecting the USB upstream cable to the non-tested Mac causes the rear USB charging port to slow down. The User's Guide simply states that our USB hub is USB 3.0 and requires a USB 3.0 capable computer. And that the USB Power Charging Port with the lightning icon supports fast current charging capability, if the device is BC1.2 compatible.

As you can see in the image below taken directly from the monitor page, the Apple proprietary hardware, operating system, and drivers were not tested/validated by Dell. So Dell cannot know how our hardware will act.

You need to connect the U2515H to a Windows based computer via the video cable and the USB upstream cable. Then test the USB fast charging port on non-apple devices and post the results.

Yes, i'm using Windows 10 pro 64bit tested by Samsung Galaxy S8+. Disconnect the upstream port increased 50% charging speed.

If you are NOT using the U2515H USB downstream ports for USB peripherals (mouse, keyboard), then just leave the USB upstream cable disconnected.

If you are using the U2515H USB downstream ports for USB peripherals, you can get a refurbished monitor exchange and test the replacement monitor.
