Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus driver

I tried to update this driver (Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus) on my computer, but I receive an error every time. It has a yellow exclamation mark by it. I have windows 10 and a Dell Inspiron 15-3521. It shows under "other devices" in my device manager, but should be under "sound, video, and game controllers."

The device status is:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

How can I fix this error?

Hello. Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus is an old name that was given to the HDMI audio driver. The current name for it should be Display Audio.

The HDMI audio driver is not a stand alone driver -- it is part of the graphics driver. Install or reinstall your Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver and see if the situation resolves itself. [The driver is for 64-bit Windows, so it might not work with 32-bit Windows.]

So I downloaded the link you sent me and I still got the cyclical redundancy error. I tried to extract it and then choose the folder it was located in and it gave me that error.

When I tried to just install it, it says "error the setup failed to install one or more device drivers.

Setup will exit.

I am 64 bit by the way.

Sorry for the delay. The forum was down Saturday morning when I tried to reply.

Your issue might be more related to Windows than being an audio issue. You might get better help on the software board.

I am interested in the problem though. Are there any symptoms, other than cannot update the driver?

It is okay. And I will check out the software board.

There are no symptoms except that I cannot get audio out of my HDMI.

Yeah, because I can't help with a problem of the driver just not installing. For other HDMI issues, see the HDMI Audio FAQ.
