Re-installation of Data Protection|Access

Base line: Dell Laptop, Latitude E6430

Windows: 10

Detail: Upgraded from 8 to 10 and like it,  Had some issues with drivers not working such as SD reader, and DVD drive but were easy to fix.  Tried to get finger print reader to work and the icon called DDPA errors with "Your USH firmware is not up to date...".  I have downloaded the most recent files (3 of them) which are: Data Protection| Encryption, Data Protection| Security tools, Data Protection| Endpoint Security Suite.

I'm not sure all or some should be installed, and if so which order and do I include a re-boot each time.

Any help here will make be a happy user.  Thanks in advance.

If you haven't tried to do so, please download the following.

Dell Control Vault Firmware, rev A40

Dell Control Vault Driver, rev A19

Hi Terry,

Well it turns out, according to Dell, that Dell Data Protection | Access won't work in Windows 10 at all.  I guess that is why the Data Protection is broken up into segments as presented in Drivers and Downloads.  In fact a notice to remove it is recommended, however, that appears to be impossible.  It keeps erroring that it can't find Dell Keypad drivers.

I tried your suggestion and it errors and won't install.

I have a backup so I'm not worried about losing any data.  It actually makes it easier to try different updates to see if they work is easy to do.

Any further thought/suggestions?

John

Terry,

I forgot to include a snapshot showing what happens when I try and install your suggestion.  Since Access won't work, I can't get into it to disable encryption, thus your suggestions won't install.

I am checking on the status of this issue. Where you able to resolve the driver problem? Did you have to reinstall Windows and leave DDPA uninstalled?  Or did you try a newer version of DDPA?  I wasn't able to find much myself other than this document which suggests updating to version DDPA revision 8.6.1 / 1.6.1.
