Hello. You might have better luck by posting on one of the operating system boards, or the internet board.

Hi Robin,

Thank you for your reply. All programs are the most recent version and I am using Avira to protect my PC.

Hi Robin,

I conducted a virus scan but did not find any viruses on my system. Could you let me know what you mean with diagnostics on the system?

Thanks

Steve,

Have you tried opening Task Manager (right-click on Taskbar and select Task Manager). If when Task Manager opens it shows very little, click on the "More details" at the bottom of the window to open the list of programs/processes running on your system and what resources are being used. If there is a high amount of CPU or Disk activity occurring, this could be the source of the problem. Try to determine which process or processes is causing this high level of activity. There may be a process that runs when you system starts that uses a lot of resources until it completes some time later.

The other possibility is that you are having hardware issues. That is what the Dell Diagnostics might reveal. Here is a link to how to run them: www.dell.com/.../SLN114988

Hi John,

I opened the Task Manager but my CPU and Disk activity are very low (below 5%). I conducted a Dell Diagnostics and my system passed the test. However, at the same time the initially described problems continue to occur. I am unable to load a video file on my PC, open a video online (youtube or similar sites). This problem only occurred after starting my PC. Once it is operational and I simply close it without shutting it down, I can open it again without any issues.

Something is taking over your system when you initially start it. You did check the Task Manager values when you were having the problem? Something should have showed up.

1. What antivirus do you have?

2. What plugins do you have for Chrome?

3. What Dell page are you having problems with?

4. How much memory does your system have?

5. Are you using a wired or wireless Internet connection?

Hi Robin,

I just conducted the test and it did not find any issues with my system. However, I still have the initially described issue. The last time it happened, I restarted my PC and then everything was working fine. I only had the issue the first time I turned on my PC.

Dear John,

Yes, I checked the Task Manager when I had the problem. Even at the time my system didn't use much CPU.

1. Avira Antvir

2. I use Momentum and AdBlock Plus

3. Dell.com (My impression is that I have problems with everything that needs Flash, I can open a plain webpage without problems)

4. 8 GB RAM

5. Wireless
