First, we need to know if you purchased the Inspiron 3847 desktop with an added video card. Look at the picture, see section 8. Now, look at yours, do you see an added video card?
If yes, then what video out ports are on the video card?
If no, then you will need to connect in this way = Inspiron 3847 #6 Blue VGA out port --> VGA to VGA cable --> #1 1908FP VGA in port Inspiron 3847 #5 HDMI out port --> HDMI to DVI cable --> #2 1908FP DVI in port
