XPS 13 2n1 battery won't hold charge and now won't power on at all

Hello All, Anyone else had this problem? I bought the XPS in January. In the last month or so, I've noticed the battery doesn't hold a charge for long. Now the computer won't power on at all, even with the charger attached. I've chatted with tech support, but the only solution we could come up with is to return the machine to a service center. Anyone know of a quicker fix? This will be the second time in 7 months I've had to send the computer to a service center. What is Dell's 'lemon' policy. Thanks, Rod
