Dell Inspiron 15 7560 Battery Charging/Hard Disk Activity Indicator Not Working

Just bought this model a month ago. At first, I thought there isn't any LED Indicator in this model for charging/ HDD activity modulation but later when I saw the guide, I noticed an indicator just below the touchpad. But, the catch is that it isn't glowing at all. Even while charging, I tried the hotkey combination (Fn + H) to toggle that light but to no avail. Any idea as to how to activate this light?

Thank you for your message.

This model has battery & hard drive activity light built into to 1 indicator.

The LED is off in battery mode only during

   a) Power adapter is connected & battery is fully charged

   b) Computer is running on battery & the battery has more than 5% charge

   c) Computer is in sleep, hibernation or turned off

Since you have tried to toggle between hard drive & battery light & it still not working could be an issue with the LED.

Try updating the bios from this link www.support.dell.com (enter your system service tag)

Will updating the BIOS work on this type of hardware issues? I mean, this resolution doesn't seem like a sure-fire one.

This is just to confirm if it’s a board issue. If the bios update does not work, the motherboard may have to replaced.

Nothing changed. Problem's still there. What to do?

Having the same problem with 7560 bought two days back. At first thought it isn't an LED even. Is this resolved?

You tried pressing Fn+H to toggle between the power and battery-status light, and hard-drive activity light?

I guess it should blink every time, independent of which status it shows. Shouldn't it?  anyways I have never seen it ON.
