Hi AlexWLV,

Thanks for posting.

Apologies that your system isn't working the way you wanted it to.  Have you tried troubleshooting the NIC?  http://dell.to/2lfe2Ry

Also, a BIOS update has helped some customers with a similar issue, be sure to check the BIOS drivers for your system to see that you are running the most current version.

Hi Robert,

Apologies for not getting back to you in February but work commitments meant that I couldn't spend much time trying to resolve this and instead I've had to work around the issue and dip back into troubleshooting whenever I can.

We don't have a spare development unit of the Precision 5510, nor a spare TB16 and I'm sure you can appreciate that my colleagues and I need to get on with our day jobs so it is quite to disruptive to methodically pick through this on our primary machines.

The troubleshooting guide you linked me to covers the basics and I can assure that there are no faults at a physical layer or within the OS, this is purely at boot time when hitting the Dell branded POST screen.

I've compared with colleagues who have identical units and ruled out BIOS version as an issue.

I've been on BIOS version 01.02.16 and 01.02.18 and repeated test scenarios with matching configurations with a colleague to verify the same experience on their equipment.

This morning I had opportunity to update to the latest BIOS 01.02.21 and can confirm that issue persists.

If I have more than one NIC connected, the machine just stops and is unresponsive a the Dell logo.

If there is anything I'm missing that I should configure differently, then please let me know but as far as I can see at the moment, it seems to be a flaw whereby the BIOS fails to handle more than one NIC.

Is there anybody from Dell able to look into this?

Is there somewhere I can get this escalated to get a response from Dell?

Nine months on from first posting here and I'm still living with the annoyance of having to boot my system first before attempting to connect any additional NICs.

I've recently applied the latest BIOS update and the issue still exists.

Is there anybody from Dell that can comment on this problem?

Is there another channel I can go down to get this looked at or at the very least acknowledged?
