We are not sure where you read that, but there is not a systemic issue like this on the S2417DG. We need to see pictures of this fault.

I know this thread is old but just to update I had it replaced by the store I bought it from and the new one does not have the glow.
Here is a picture of the problem: i.imgur.com/jjxXji0.jpg
Look at the bottom of the monitor, there is a strip of blue. That should not be there.
