Inspiron 5758 headphone jack?
My 5758 inspiron documentation shows where the audio I/O jack is and simply labels it as 2.5mm headset jack. I can't locate any more information on it.
What is the correct plug type that fits the jack (3 or 4 contact) and what are the signals?

Thanks for posting.
The speaker/microphone jack is a 3.5 mm jack. Since the speaker and microphone are combined in the same jack you would need a 4 contact jack.

Robert P: Thanks for the plug signal information. However, my computer jack is too small for a 3.5 mm plug. It will not even enter the opening in the case where the jack is. Interestingly, my attempts to obtain the port size information have been to no avail - not even in the "specifications" from Dell. I will see if I can locate a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter.
