DELL XPS 9365

I have bought a DELL XPS 9365 13" laptop. I have problems with booting devices on legacy mode. ON legacy mode and AHCI option there is no chance to boot an any OS installer on usb stick. When I try boot installer on usb stick there is only black screen and nothing happens. On raid mode OS installer from usb stick is starting but hard drive (M2 PCIe SSD) is not visible on bios and there is no chance to install OS. Have you meet this problem? I have newest bios version 01.00.14 installed and problem seems still not be fixed. How to boot installer from usb stick on legacy mode in AHCI enabled ??

What operating system are you trying to install in legacy mode?  If it's Linux, you need to make sure your installer has support for NVMe drives.

Note that for Windows, this being a Kaby Lake system, ONLY WIndows 10 is supported - there is no support for any older version of Windows at all.

With Windows, only 10 is supported.

Ubuntu can be installed -- you'll need a distribution that supports NVMe and to turn OFF secure boot.

Windows 7. But also Linux installer doesn't work. Both Windows 7 and Linux (ubuntu) installer are not starting when I choose booting from usb stick (black screen). So only Windows 10 will running on this laptop?? It's sad...

Win 7 will not boot in Secure Boot Mode, and as mentioned, will not run on that processor.

The later Ubuntu kernels will boot Secure and should boot fine on that system.  I booted to a USB drive and ran the Live version of Ubuntu.  Some devices did not seem to work correctly from the LIve version but I never actually installed it.

I was testing to see if Ubuntu could pick up the drive and install, and it saw a Samsung 960 M.2 PCIe drive fine with the SATA controller set to AHCI or disabled.  I do not know if Samsung has a driver for Ubuntu but its NVMe driver may work fine.
