no everything works fine. It identifies the adapter and its power also. I checked in the BIOS. There is no issue with that.
Just now my laptop got shut down suddenly while I was using it on the new battery and again when I tried to start it, again it got shutdown. Then I tried plugging in power and started the laptop then it started normally.

So, I feel that maybe the battery is defective!!

Does the system correctly identify the AC adapter (F2 at powerup to check) or does the adapter show "unknown"?
