Diagnostic and the bluescreen troubleshooter aren't the same.Diagnostic check the hardware on system whereas the Blue screen (troubleshooter) troubleshoot errors that cause windows to stop or restart unexpectedly. Please click on link I've posted above.
If you experience a blue screen error in near future, I suggest you run the Blue screen troubleshooter tool on the system. Just type Troubleshoot onto the [Cortana} search box, and then select Brue screen. Please click on the link below for additional information.
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION can be caused by driver incompatibility, or by software that isn’t compatible with Windows 10. Since the BIOS is updated, I suggest you expand System Management and then install Dell Command | Update from your Dell Product Support page. The Dell utility will update the drivers and firmware on the system. Please click on link below for additional information:
I also suggest you check out the information in the link below as well. Thanks again for the quick update. Hopefully there isn't any blue screen error code in the future.
Yes, standard Windows 10 Home that came on it. After my post, I had a second incident. I looked at bios files and found that there was a new one (1.5 - just released) over the one I had just installed 1.4. So far, have not had any issues since installing this. Will post back if I see it again.
Is that the same as selecting the blue screen option in Dell diagnostics? I selected that last night, then chose full analysis. I think it ran all the tests, not just ***, and said all was good.
p.s. Just as a reality check, there is nothing "normal" these days about getting a blue screen error. It is something that should never, ever happen outside of hardware failure.
Thank you so much for your help! I'm sorry, did not realize earlier that entire posts were not shown in email. So I missed lower part of your messages.
I ran the blue screen troubleshooter and it said no problems found.
I am having trouble finding the log you mentioned. Looking in Applications and Services Logs -- \Microsoft\Windows\ and don't see WER or SystemErrorReporting. Could you point me in the right direction?

Any chance you could put some of the dump files on OneDrive and give us a link? Possibly we could find something pertinent..

Sure. So right click on that folder and "Save All Events As"?

OK, thanks. I think I found them.
Looking around the time the bsod happened last night, I see five related ones spread over a couple of minutes:
Faulting app: SearchProtocolhost.exe
Faulting module: windows.storage.dll
Then, a few minutes later, there a few from killerservice.exe -- again windows.module.dll
Since I installed the updated bios, there have been none.
