Wireless computer

Question

Hi I have a Dell inspiron computer that i activated wireless with the 2300 Broadband router. But the problem is that i cant get wireless because the computer is connected to the cable modem. If i unplug the cable modem, i have no internet. I dont know how to have internet without the cable modem plugged in teh computer. P.S. I tried plugging the cable modem directly to the Broadband Router and it still did not work Any help would be great....Thanks Jose
