Imaging Latitude 3189 with Configuration Manager 1610
I am trying to image the Dell Latitude 3189 with Configuration Manger 1610. No matter what I try I am always left with two devices without drivers. Both devices have a description of PCI Simple Communications Controller. Here are screenshots of the Hardware IDs.
Here is what I have tried so far.
-SCCM Task Sequence to install Microsoft Windows 10 1607 OEM and apply drivers. Drivers were imported into Config Manager from the downloaded CAB file from
support.dell.com.
-SCCM Task Sequence to install Microsoft Windows 10 1607 OEM and apply drivers. Drivers were imported into Config Manager from the Dell OEM Windows 10 image (the one Dell offers is version 1511) downloaded from
support.dell.com.
-SCCM Task Sequence to install Microsoft Windows 10 1607 OEM and apply drivers. Drivers were imported into Config Manager from each individually extracted driver file that was downloaded from
support.dell.com.
-SCCM Task Sequence to install Microsoft Windows 10 1511 OEM and apply drivers. Drivers were imported into Config Manager from the downloaded CAB file from
support.dell.com.

For testing purposes I also tried:
-Installed Windows 10 1607 Microsoft OEM from a bootable USB and then downloaded all of the drivers from
support.dell.com and ran and installed them in the Dell recommended order.
-Installed Windows 10 1607 Microsoft OEM from a bootable USB then ran the Dell Command Update Tool to find and install drivers.
-Installed Windows 10 1607 Microsoft OEM from a bootable USB then ran the Intel Update Utility Tool to find and install drivers.
-Downloaded from
support.dell.com and installed Dell OEM Windows 10 image (version 1511) on one of the devices and took an image of that device using DISM. I imported that image into Config Manager and applied with task sequence.
Everything mentioned above results in the two devices with missing drivers.

I have this exact same problem and tried to put in support tickets to no avail. I was then told to call their support number specifically for SCCM which I have not done quite yet:
Agent (Sumeet_Katkar): "Alright, since you are working on SCCM, we have a dedicated team to handle the software support, you can reach them on 877-790-3355 number."

Yea, regular support didn't help at all. We got up to advanced support and this is what we found out:
Make sure you leave Secure Boot and UEFI boot on
In the BIOS enable UEFI Network stack under General > Advanced Boot Options
Also can help if in BIOS you update Post Behavior > Fast Boot to Thorough
I am using Dell nic Manufacturer Part# : 94HCF | Dell Part# : 492-11726
Download this driver and inject it into your boot image:

After you do that you should be able to PXE and device drivers will be deployed correctly during the OSD task. For some reason the devices will only grab their drivers correctly when UEFI and Secure boot is on.
Problem I am having now is the nic works fine when I pxe and am in WinPE but when the task gets to the point where it boots into the machine's OS the nic is not recognized at all. The computer does not even see it exists. Tried deploying the above drivers through a driver package and through a regular deploy driver step but the nic is only recognized when you take it out and then plug it in again.

I had the same problem and found a solution (or rather a workaround) working for me, haven't had problems since i did this.
In your TS, instead of having a Apply Driver Package step, make a Download Package Content step to download the driver package to the custom path: %_SMSTSMDataPath%\Drivers
And then a Run Command Line step with the following to install the drivers:
DISM.exe /Image:%OSDTargetSystemDrive%\ /Add-Driver /Driver:%_SMSTSMDataPath%\Drivers\ /Recurse /logpath:%_SMSTSLogPath%\dism.log
The Download Package Content is a new step that came in 1610.
I have put these two steps in a group where the group have a wmi query to only run on this model.

I am having the same issue with the 3189 USB nic not being recognized after the computer boots from PE into the full OS, it seems random since I can run the same computer over and over and it will only happen about half the time. I have tried Dell USB NIC adapters as well as other brands and get the same results, we have Thinkpads that we use the same adapters with and do not see this issue has anyone both seen and solved this issue?
