I updated BIOS to version 1.6.4 and I have last Intel video driver but still the same. When I open LID then notebook turn on lights on keyboard and power button but display is black.

Only possibility is hard restart. This test was on Windows 7.

rafavodo,

Did you purchase directly from Dell or a retailer?  If you purchased directly from Dell, did you purchase the upgraded on site warranty?  If so, you may be covered.  If not, then you would need to contact the seller and see what warranty service they can provide.  Dell may fix it for you, for a fee, if you contact Out of Warranty service in your country.

The "Computer Does Not Wake Up or Resume from Suspend/Hibernate Mode" page has completely generic suggestions - update drivers and BIOS or go to a general-purpose list of Windows error resolutions. This seems to happen to multiple people.

Isn't there something more specific to this problem?

ok, so because i bought it from a retailer, DELL doesn't takes responsibility for a brand new, sealed in the box product.

this company is , im so regreting of having invested my money here. its a  joke, hope mac crushes you

yeah i get his point, but i don't think that makes any difference were i got my sealed box with my laptop inside. and whatever apple makes with his overprized products is not my problem, that's wy i don't buy anything from them :)

Actually - if you read his response 'If you bought from Dell OR A RETAILER' - his point is warranty coverage. It has to be purchased from a verified seller to have a warranty. Apple makes it even harder than that. Good luck!

We are experiencing this same issue with our 7480 machines. Must be a driver update that is causing the issue. Hopefully Dell figured out if it is an intel problem or otherwise!

Hello, I have a 3 years old Latitude E7240 I bought it second hand/refurbished. And I have  the same problem on sleep mode, it doesn´t wake up. Acording to information I checked on internet, it seems to be a DELL issue. DELL-Robert gave some instructions up here, but they didn´t work for anybody; however he didn´t give any additional information !

hi richard, after several calls to the dell customer area, and trying EVERYTHING they suggested (including formating the computer, and reinstalling windows, via phone instructions) there was nothing left but to replace the whole motherboard. They arranged a home visit so a technician will make that replacement. Luckily it worked fine and now it is fully operational :)

hope you get a solution, don't give up and leave the issue "open" , it is hard but they end up taking care
