* Disconnect the P2414H and all of its cables from the computer
* Power on the computer and U2718Q testing the U2718Q as the only Primary monitor

* Do you have a DP to DP cable there to test on the U2718Q DP in port?

* Do you have an HDMI to HDMI cable there to test on the U2718Q HDMI in port?

While it shouldn't affect anything, I need to make a quick correction:

What video out ports are on the video card? (VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP/mDP)
1x DP, 1x HDMI, 1x DVI 1xDVI-D, 1xDVI-I

Firmware is: M2B101

While I was doing some testing last night, I had a few instances where the issue didn't occur until a few minutes after the monitor woke up from power save mode (instead of while it was still in power save mode, or immediately after waking). Also, after experiencing the issue twice last night with both monitors connected, I was unable to cause it to occur with only the U2718Q connected via the  DP-mDP.

This morning, however, the issue occurred once again immediately after turning my computer back on with only the U2718Q connected to my GTX 970 (still using the DP-mDP cable), and also occurred after I shut my computer down, swapped to the Hotron E246588 AWM STYLE 20276 DP-DP cable supplied with the P2414H monitor, turned my computer back on, and let the monitor enter power save mode.

I haven't had a chance to test with an HDMI cable, and I'll be away from my desktop for the next week, but once I get back I'll do some more testing with an Amazon basics E220888 AWM STYLE 20276 HDMI cable.

Be sure to download and install the latest Nvidia driver from the Nvidia website for that January 2014 Asus Strix GTX 970 video card. Once installed, reboot and retest.

I uninstalled my old driver (388.13) using DDU and installed the latest driver (388.59) and there were no changes. One of my roommates has the same model 970, and I have another friend with a 1070 whose rig I can use to test, so I'll see if I can replicate the issue on both of those systems, just to make sure it isn't an issue with my PC.

Just had same issue with 1 day old U2718Q. I have 2x U1718Q on Radeon WX5100 and found one monitor with same image as earlier post in this thread and not responding to power buttons or OSD buttons. I did notice that backlight on monitor with problem stayed on after computer went to sleep.

So I never got a chance to check on my friend's 1070, but on my roommate's 970, and my PS4, the problem still occurs.

Contact Dell Support and initiate a used monitor exchange. New monitor exchanges are only allowed inside the first 30 days from the Dell invoice date. Test the replacement before returning any monitor to Dell. If both monitors have the same issue, it is highly unlikely that both monitors are defective. Look to the devices, drivers, cabling, etc.

My Dell U2718Q also gives a No HDMI signal screen after my Asus UX501V laptop getting out of the sleeping mode.  I tried switching 3 different HDMI cables but didn't work.  I tried connecting my Samsung Activbook 9 to the Dell and it works.  Some people on other forums say I need to update intel graphics driver on my asus, but i checked and it says already installed best driver, but on forums it says there is a new one dated 28.12.2017 that should be installed.  Is it a drivers problem or other problems?

To clarify,
- Is the U2718Q going into PSM (PowerSave Mode) while the computers are on the windows desktop?
- Are the computers first entering PSM which then causes the U2718Q to enter PSM?

* If the U2718Q HDMI in port worked on the Samsung Activbook 9 waking from PSM, then the U2718Q is not the culprit. What operating system is on the Samsung Activbook 9?

* What operating system is on the Asus UX501V laptop?

"but on forums it says there is a new one dated 28.12.2017 that should be installed."
I am not sure which driver you mean? Dell is not going to have any Asus drivers? The U2718Q page does not list a driver dated December 12, 2017. The only driver I see for the U2718Q is dated July 13, 2017.

How do I find the Dell Technical Support for my country?

* Type in Dell Technical Support Hong Kong [press Enter]

I too am having this same issue. Whenever an HDMI is plugged into, the monitors go black and state they're going to sleep. However the computer is still running on the desktop and everything seems to be running fine. I've tried swapping cables and both display ports work but not the HDMI ports. I've tried an HDMI to display port cable and that didn't work. What's odd is that my ViewSonic 24" 1080p monitors ran fine through HDMI and I didn't have a single issue with them. I've installed the latest drivers for Nvidia. Currently running an Asus gtx 1070 OC on a Gigabyte Z270 Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard with an Intel i7-6700k running at 4.5Ghz.

I'm testing the HDMI port on my Xbox one S and it's working. So I'm assuming there's something wrong with my graphics card? I've never had a problem with it till now.

I'm gonna try to do a clean wipe and start from scratch. I'll start diagnosing one by one from there. I've spent way to many hours trying to figure out thise issue and if this wipe won't work after a clean install of drivers then I'm going back to my 1080p monitors.

I also have this issue, when turning PC the primary monitor will come on. But once you hit windows 10 loading screen, the monitor would fade and display no DP signal and eventually time out.

When you powercycle again the windows desktop would show up perfectly. Find it quirky and slight annoyance only.Upgraded to the latest firmware and it still persist. Also this problem does not happen on every boot, may be 1 out of 3 times it will do this.
