Connecting to a domain with Latitude D600

Question

Is there a way to have the Intel TrueMobile 2100 Wireless NIC connect to the access point prior to windows logon?  I can connect to the access point using Intel ProSet after login, but I can only logon because of cached windows accounts.  If I try to logon using a different username, I get a domain not available message due to the wireless not connecting.   Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that it is running Windows XP connecting to a Windows 2000 network.

XP Home or Pro?  If Home, then you are out of luck.  In order to join a domain, you will have to make the necessary change in your configuration(s) or get a program called Netswitcher.

You'd have to let Windows manage your wireless setting to do what you want.

Will the XP wireless configuration work?  I was under the impression that the ProSet utility was required for wireless on the Centrino devices.

The Zero Configuration Utility should work.  These utilties are getting to be a nusiance and I wish MS and the wirless makers would lock themselves in a rom and agree on a common utility for all Windows users, and that includes Dell.

In another thread, someone pointed out that Wireless Zero Configuration can run as a service so it starts when the machine starts, but it needs to be configured to start automatically. Jim
