Right now I just updated to the 56.64s ,these were just released, have not been able to test performance yet...as far as the the most trouble free stay with the 53.03s anything else above that causes the 8600 to be unable to come out of standby mode....some kind of bug in the drivers....congrats on the 8600 purchase I love mine, and have yet to find a game the 5650 will not play great...Here is a link to the drivers ...http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
No problems so far other than the standby issue I will test game performance tonight and give an update.... also will run 3D mark 2001 and 2003 plus Aquamark 3......
OK just completed the tests on the 56.64s,so far no problems at all system wise except for the standby issue. DVD playback is fine no issues at all ...Benchmarks are as follows:
3DMark2001- 9781
3DMark 2003- 2634
Aquamark03- 18594
Gameplay MaxPayne 2 1280x1024 smooth no slowdowns or problems of any kind......
Settings: No Off AF Off High Performance VSync Off
No Overclocking 1281 3Dmarks on 45.86 with pieter's 20.19 1281 3Dmarks on 56.82 with pieter's 20.19
Overclocked to 200/400
1305 3Dmarks on 56.82 with pieter's 20.19 1322 3Dmarks on 56.82 with sudlow's 5150inf (w/ Sideband Addressing) 1328 3Dmarks on 53.82 with sudlow's 5150inf (w/ Sideband Addressing)
The 56 series drivers have a increasingly larger downgrade in performance compared tot eh 53 series. The latest 53.82 has been tested to be the fastest driver for the inspiron 5150 and from the 54.01 and on the 3dmarks get lower and lower with the 56.86 being the worst and equivalent to the dell drivers for the 5150, 45.86 so if you want performance go to
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and get the best 53 series driver.
yeah i have to agree with the 53 series drivers as being one of the best. i havent tested the the newest but the 53 series seems to be a very stable driver.. thanks, steve

Have you had any problems with the 56.64's yet? I have the FX Go5200 with the 45.81 drivers, should I upgrade?
