what is the Aurora R4 resource DVD for?
Im have a very big problem with my computer and need to reinstall windows 8.1. BUt my alienware didnt come with a windows revocery but a Aurora R4 Resource DVD.
Does it have windows recovery on it or is it only the outdated drivers that i must not use?

In that case my best recommendation is to contact the technical support site in your country to see if they can send you the CD.

Hello Djtremix!
The resource DVD has drivers on it and to reinstall windows you will need a different CD that you can request here if you live within US or Canada, otherwise you can contact the technical support site in your country to request one.
After the installation of windows you can either use the resources disk or download the drivers from the Dell support site.

hi Milena,
thankx for the answer. i no longer live in the US but my warranty is still in the US region. My service tag doesnt seem to be reconignize were i live.
Is there no other way to do it? like sending me the data so that i can download it to a USB Drive? I heard this thing called "Dell Direct USB key"
Or if i have no choice, use another Windows 8.1 cd to re-install windows on my system. i heards that the windows key of my computer is already inside my computer and dont need to re-input a new cd key? or if there is a way to download windows from Microsoft to reinstall the windows on to a flash drive?

thanks for the answer. I was actually able to get a free copy of windows directly from Microsft.
