Sound Blaster control panel stopped working m14x r2
The Sound Blaster control panel stopped working and automatically shuts down whenever I try to start it up. The sound still works, but I can no longer change the jack setup. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and the Sound Blaster software, but it didn't help. Anything else I can try to fix this?

I have the same problem on my Alienware M14x R2. I reinstalled the drivers and that does nothing

By any chance have you tried updating or re-flashing your BIOS?

I have installed all the updates that were recommended for my laptop on the drivers and downloads part of the Dell website and the control panel worked fine afterwards. Only recently did it fail to start. Perhaps a windows update is causing the conflict?

Highly unlikely that it is a windows update.
But I guess it wouldn't hurt to put that to the test.
Do you happen to have Alienrespawn installed?

Sadly I don't have respawn installed anymore.

Well, unless you can perform a restore point before those Windows Updates kicked in. I'm afraid we would have to go with a Clean installation of the Operating System.
