Thanks.

Already at 60hz.  Anything higher blurs worse.  17" monitor works fine everywhere.  The 19" works fine everywhere else.  Seems specific to my machine.  Is it possible that the onboard video of the Dimension 2350 just won't adequately drive a monitor of this size?

Try lowering refresh rate to 60 HZ, then raise till no flicker is noticed. A too high refresh rate blurs the image. I run 1024 by 768 at 75 to 85 hz, on a 19". Is your 17 inch monitor OK on the other PC?

Sounds like the onboard video isn't functioning correctly, have you tried updating the driver from intel's site?

No, did not know I could. Any hints on how to do that?

Thanks

Maybe the 19" just reveals flaws, if it is OK on other systems. You might need a new video card if the new driver does not help, probably PCI for the 2350.

Thanks everyone!  I tried updating the drivers.  It helped, but not much.  I suspect you are probably right, the 19" just shows the flaws in the onboard video.  The other Dell that drives the monitor so well has a 32MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra video card.  Y

You are right, my machine does not accept AGP cards, so I will need PCI.  I can find a cheap 64MB PCI video card on Ebay ($25), I will probably just try that and see how it works.
