M11x issue with Intgrated Web Camera

I got my M11x a few weeks ago and am generally fine with it.  It did come out of the box with some issue that I was able to resolve mostly with driver upgrades.  One issue I cannot resolve is with the intgrated webcam.  Sometimes the camera does not initialize for some time upon start up and a few times it did not initialize at all.  I had to enter my system password to get in as facial recognition was not available.  I tried to use the camera through other programs and it was not working.  When I looked at the Device Manager, it indicates the camera is working fine.  I tried to find drivers but cannot.  Anyone else have this issue and if so, were you able to fix it?

leprohon,

We want to capture your PC. We will setup like for like system exchanges. Once complete, we would send you the dispatch exchange number. You will also receive a special Return Airbill so that your original PC will come to our lab. You will keep the original PC until you receive the replacement PC. Do you want us to proceed?

Hi,

I've had my Alienware M11x R3 for about 8months with no issues, until now, I had an issue with the bluetooth which was easily resolved by installing new driver software from the Dell website. However, since my integrated webcam has stopped working, it is not being recognised anywhere and I cannot find any drivers to fix this issue.

Can you please send me a link to update the webcam driver and/or provide any assistance.

Kindr regards.

For systems that shipped with Windows 7, there is only the native Windows 7 webcam driver. You may use our Dell Webcam Central software or any of the others out there: Skype, Manycam, Yawcam, Webcammax, etc.

* Click the link to run the "Microsoft Fix it" if the webcam fails to appear in the Control Panel
