Aurora R4 Visualization (VT) off by default and not displayed in BIOS A11

Try using the free version of VMWare player:

Gave it a shot but got pretty much the same answer. 

This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.

This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled.

Intel VT-x might be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or the host has not been power-cycled since changing this setting.

(1) Verify that the BIOS/firmware settings enable Intel VT-x and disable 'trusted execution.'

(2) Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.

(3) Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware Player.

(4) Update the host's BIOS/firmware to the latest version.

I always power down, count to 5 and power up after a install of something, and the bios still doesn't show VT..

Wow! Seriously!! Before de A11 version the VT-X worked properly, why now we should change the motherboard, it's a non sens?!?

Well before Bios A11 it didn't work for myself.

I have a LGA2011 3930k chip.. and the tech I talked to kept saying I needed the 3960X or 3970X for Virtualization to work.. even though Intel has two tools you can download to check if your chip supports Visualization and mine does so that means it's the board that doesn't or the programming in the bios saying "no." 

Either way it is not right and really looks like Dell are pulling *** in the back again.

For me yes, I used VirtualBox since a long time without problem. The problem appear only since I upgraded with the A11 and I have the same processor: i7-3930K 3.2Ghz.

I tried to downgrade to A10 but is impossible :-(

I will call Dell for that!! In my mind is not normal.

Is to replace the board with a NON dell x79 LGA2011 motherboard. 

I don't know if Alienware has moved from the x79 platform to the Haswell platform or not. so you will need to make sure before looking at new boards what you have and what your replacment opitons are

If you want to keep using the same case you have now. you have to look for an m-ATX motherboard.
