You are describing ghosting, which is directy linked to the LCD response time. How bad is it? Every LCD will have it to some degree but it shouldn't be too noticable. If it is then you migh have gotten the Hitachi WXGA (Some people are not aware, but not just the WSXGA is affected, so is the WXGA sometimes shipped with a sub-par Hitachi. However, it is very, very rare and of the WXGA's 99.99% are Samsung's). Therefore if it is that bad call Dell and ask for a screen replacement as its unacceptable.
Thanks for your advice. Today a Dell technician replaced the display and now everything is fine. As you said it was as Hitachi display and now I've got a Samsung with nearly no trace of "ghosts".
