How Loud Is the Dell Inspiron 1100 fan(s)?

Question

I haven't received my new Dell Inspiron 1100 yet, but I would like know if anyone has measured the decibel level(dB) of the noise created by the fan. I currently have a Zalman 92 mm Quiet Case Fan (ZM-F2) that operates at 20dB 'silent mode' in my Dimension 4100. It can be heard, but it's not very loud. It's MUCH quieter than the case fan the originally came with the system when it was manufactured. I'm sensitive to noise and would appreciate any ideas on how to minimize fan noise levels (ie, BIO updates, control program, hardware, etc). I'm also looking for a cooling solution to keep my new notebook cool. Again, focusing on minimizing noise. I own an i1100. The fans can be loud at times but not always. The only time you can really hear it is if your working it hard or on startup on the OS screen. I hope you enjoy your new i1100

Thanks for your message. Does it always come on when the computer first starts? I would like to know, did you ever own a I2500 or I2600? I did, and the fan wasn't that loud, actually very tolerable for me. If you have used any of those notebooks, how would you compare the fan noise from I2500 or I2600 to the i1100?

I have only ever had my i1100 and an old IBM 380XD. I'm only 10 years-old! lol Well they don't come right on. At least not until the OS screen starts. But even then the fans aren't loud.
