Where are you getting stuck? You must be using the PERC 4e/Si controller. You will also need to load the driver during the install, and you MUST configure and initialize RAID before installing the OS.

If you want to use the 4/DC, you need to install Server 2008 (not R2). I would recommend using the 1850 with embedded RAID set to SCSI-enabled and not RAID-enabled, then mirror the disks in Windows Server 2008 R2.

Thank you for the service tag.

I show that the system was purchased with a PERC4/DC. As Flash pointed out, you will need to load the PERC driver manually. The PERC4/DC is a SCSI controller, and Microsoft does not have a native SCSI driver in the operating system. You can download available drivers for the controller from the server support page:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/product-support/product/poweredge-1850/

You can find information about creating virtual disks in the storage manual:

Thanks
