If you suspect a loose antenna connection, that is a very quick and easy fix as long as you have a screwdriver.  Dell even has step-by-step instructions complete with diagrams in that system's Service Manual, which you can find here: http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-15-5559-laptop_service%20manual_en-us.pdf

As far as the OS reinstallation issue, no running Windows 10 Pro rather than Home wouldn't make a difference, but on the other hand, there are absolutely problems that are caused by people having installed other OSes or (more often) random applications/utilities after they get their system, and then they encounter problems and immediately assume that their system was defective from the factory because it happened "right out of the box", even though that isn't exactly true.  So for a given issue, sometimes it can be tough to know whether it could plausibly be caused by something the user had customized about their OS environment.  It's a judgment call that I would argue the entry level support techs don't have the expertise to make, so yes with some issues, techs will err on the side of requiring you to return to the factory configuration just to establish a known baseline that wouldn't have any other confounding variables, as inconvenient as that can be.  Fyi if you ever need to do that, one option would be to capture an image of your system beforehand.  There are several free tools that can do this, such as Macrium Reflect Free, which is a popular choice here.  That way you can wipe/restore your system as needed in order to perform your troubleshooting, get the warranty work approved, or whatever, and then just restore your image afterward to get right back to where you were beforehand.  That's also useful if you suspect an issue might be caused by something in your specific Windows installation and want to see if it goes away with a clean install but don't want to be stuck rebuilding your system from scratch for nothing if you find that the problem still exists at that point.  If so, you'll still obviously have a problem to solve, but you'll at least be able to recover to where you were.

While unlikely, running 8.1 Pro on a system shipped with Windows 10 could cause issues - and Dell supports only the OS it ships with the system,so they can indeed require a factory OS restore.

Check the antenna connection as recommended - - but if you need Dell support, you'll need to load the factory OS to get it.
