Run the Dell Diagnostics (tap F12 as soon as you reboot) and include the custom extended hard drive test. Any errors, replace the hard drive.

Try to get into the BIOS by hitting the f12 key at the Dell logo when you first turn it on. In bios there should be a section, either in the first screen or a tab where it shows what storage drives or boot drives you have. Does it say anything? If it does not, its possible you have a loose connection to your HDD. If it does but still won't boot, its possible the HDD went bad.

@ieee488, I went for the diagnostics, it then took me to two consecutive tests, in which my system have passed. And then it directed to a window which shows the, Configuration, Results, System Health, Event Log.

Try to open up the BIOS by spamming f2 on the start screen. Go to boot, and if you Windows Boot Manager then click on it. If you don't see it, then try to create a bootable USB with any Linux distro and try to fix the problem using that. If it boots from the USB, it means your system can actually boot and inside of your Linux distro jsut check your drives and see if they're being read.

Did you run the extended test on the hard drive?  It takes quite a long time.

no bootable device = failed hard drive

@ieee488, I think I went through that extended hard drive test. The estimated time somewhere around 2hrs. But it actually had completed in 17- 18 mins.

And it said that its completed and no error was found...

Also, if the hard drive as failed how much will it cost to replace one.

Quick Solution for UEFI base

I'll try to write it in English

Step by step According to the pictures...

Boot Sequence

Put Name: 123

philipyip.files.wordpress.com/.../21.png

philipyip.files.wordpress.com/.../101.png

When the "123" list was added to the list above, the "V" must be removed from the rest

Apply => open popup windows => click "OK"

Exit

The system restarting...

Wait and see if my magic has succeeded ...

You're missing the Windows Boot Manager in Dell Preboot menu ( F12 key)....

I'm assuming you're missing the windows boot manager in the BIOS as well.

Check if the Hard drive is detected and the SATA option set to AHCI in the BIOS. The video in the link below might help with the no bootable devices problem by checking BIOS settings such as restoring BIOS settings, change the boot mode (Legacy/UEFI), boot sequence and SATA operation.

You check in the BIOS to see if the Hard drive is detected and SATA is set to AHCI ? If no, please check out the images and video I've posted above....

It appears you're missing the windows boot manager in the BIOS. This could means the BIOS settings are off, corrupt windows or even a faulty hard drive.

How old is the computer? If there's warranty on the system, you can ask Dell for a free hard drive replacement?Warranty Status
